FAQ

1) How is Hydrosword different from other sanitizers in the market?

Ans: Most of the sanitizers in the market is either alcohol or ammonium compound based. However, Hydrosword has only one active ingredient - HOCl.

HOCl exists naturally in our body and is produced by our white blood cells to inactivate bacteria and viruses. Literature studies show that HOCl is lethal against bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores. Yet HOCl is also very safe as it is one of the only agents that is nontoxic to the delicate cells that can heal our wounds.

2) Can Hydrosword protect us against HFMD/Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

Ans: Scientific literature has shown that HOCl is effective against a long list of bacteria, fungus, spores and various viruses such as Influenza virus and Rhinovirus.

As HOCl mechanism of action is generally through inactivation of surface molecules of such microorganisms, it is reasonable to extrapolate (or predict) that HOCl could inactivate other untested microorganisms (including novel COVID-19 virus).

Most importantly, Hydrosword needs to be used appropriately in order for it to be effective.

Do watch this video on how to use Hydrosword correctly.

3) Is Hydrosword suitable for babies?

Ans: Yes it is, because it as safe as water, Hydrosword is suitable for all skin types and all age groups, from infants to elderly.

4) Can I use Hydrosword to clean surfaces for eg: tables or high chairs?

Ans: Yes you can, Hydrosword is an all purpose sanitizer that cleans everything. It's an essential in your bag.

5) Can I spray on my sofas or plane seats?

Ans: This has not been tested but generally, Hydrosword works best on non-porous surfaces (eg. hands, tables, utensils) Unless you spray so much such that the porous surface is entirely wet. The key thing is getting the HOCl to come into contact with the bacteria. With porous surfaces like plane seats and mattresses, it is likely that the bacteria could be "shielded" from HOCl in microscopic pores and crevices.

6) Can I transfer the Hydrosword to other bottles? Will opening the cover affect its effectiveness?

Ans: Opening the cover for a little while will not affect the effectiveness of Hydrosword. However, it is not advisable to transfer it to other bottles as the current bottle has been tested and chosen to be able to keep the Hydrosword effective for one year from its date of manufacture.

7) Can I use Hydrosword to clean cutlery when dining out?

Ans: There are so many ways to use Hydrosword. Read this post.

8) How do I know the expiry date of my Hydrosword?

Ans: It is one year from the date of manufacture, which can be found at the bottom of the bottle.

9) Why is there a chlorine smell?

Ans: That's because of our active ingredient - HOCl. Hypochlorous has a unique faint smell that is undetectable to some users while some equate it to a spa or the ocean. Some might even confuse it with bleach.

The chlorine smell is a byproduct because HOCl molecule contains a Chlorine atom. The chlorine smell might be more obvious in new batches of Hydrosword.

Rest assure that the faint chlorine smell is not harmful.

10) Can I leave my Hydrosword in the car, which may be under the sun for some time?

Ans: It is not advisable because high temperature will affect the effectiveness of Hydrosword. It is best kept in a cool place.

11) Will Hydrosword dry my skin?

Ans: No, absolutely not. It's as gentle as water but lethal to the bacteria and viruses.

12) Is there really only 1 ingredient in Hydrosword and nothing else, no chemicals added?

Ans: Yes. Only one active ingredient - HOCl and water.

13) How do I order?

Ans: Please fill in our order form.

14) Where is Hydrosword manufactured?
